Orlando to Hold Ceasefire Resolution Hearing on Monday
Anti-Jewish organizers plan to flood the City Council hearing with demands for a ceasefire resolution
Following their failure to force a ceasefire resolution through the Orlando City Council last December, white supremacist and pro-Palestinian organizers in Orlando are planning another assault on Orlando and UCF’s Jewish communities - scheduled for the first day of Passover.
This Monday, April 22nd, a regularly-scheduled public hearing hosted by the Orlando City Council will be disrupted by anti-Jewish protestors demanding a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, according to preliminary reports.
Calls for a “ceasefire” by white supremacist and pro-Palestinian organizations are smokescreens for advocacy for a genocide of the Jewish people. It is self-evident that Orlando’s position on the Israel-Hamas war will not affect it in any substantial way - instead, ceasefire resolutions are dog whistles intended to make Jewish residents feel unsafe in their local communities. Anti-Jewish activists resent Jewish presence in their local communities and aim to drive out Jews by any means necessary - City Council resolutions being a preferred tactic in the United States.
The Council meeting is scheduled to run from 2pm to 5pm. To make public comments, you must pre-register by 9am on Monday using this link. We strongly encourage Jewish voices and Jewish allies to speak up at this meeting against antisemitic elements in the Orlando community.
