Professor Protected by UCF Launches Racist Tirade Against Jewish Student
The professor denied the 10/7 pogrom took place, and forced the student to stay after class to listen to racist vitriol
To preserve the privacy of the student in the early stages of this incident, neither the student’s name nor any identifying information about the professor will be released at this time.
A Jewish UCF student was confronted at the end of their class by a professor who denied that Jewish people have ever lived in the Land of Israel, and casted doubt on the rapes and murders which occurred during the October 7th pogrom.
The professor had previously been reported for making racist and antisemitic remarks, such as telling the student that their native language, Hebrew, is inferior to the professor’s native language, Arabic; and that the professor preferred to call Israel “occupied territory.” The report was forwarded to UCF’s Office of Institutional Equity, which declined to intervene - citing “insufficient evidence.”
While discussing class material with fellow students, the student was approached by the professor, who castigated the student for reporting the professor’s other racist remarks to UCF. The professor repeated their racist claims about Israel, and then proceeded to call the rapes and murders performed by Hamas on 10/7 “a question mark.” As the student attempted to leave the room in response to the professor’s vitriol, the professor demanded the student remain and continue the conversation.
Subsequent remarks from the professor to the student include:
That there is no proof that anyone was raped or murdered during 10/7;
That the IDF is intentionally killing innocent civilians in Gaza;
That “you guys always complain” when the student mentioned the attacks launched on Israel by Arab League states;
Denying that the Western Wall is 2,000 years old;
Denying that any Jewish or Hebrew artifacts exist in the Land of Israel; and
That Jesus “lived in Palestine.”
To reiterate: the student was confronted by the professor at the end of class, while the student was actively discussing class material with other students; prevented from leaving the room or ending the conversation by the professor; and actively retailiated against for reporting the previously-described situation.
It is clear from the fact that the professor not only felt comfortable enough to harass their own student, but was previously reported for racism and not penalized, that UCF is protecting the professor and allowing them to continue to harass their Jewish student.
The incident has been forwarded to multiple parties for further action. We will keep you posted as the situation develops.
