UCF MSA Glorifies Hamas Murderers, Endorses Pogrom
MSA has held a memorial for the "martyrs" of October 7th in the Student Union, alongside calling for another genocide of Jews.
If your only source of news on the Simchat Torah war was the UCF Muslim Student Association, you might start thinking that Israel had attacked Palestinians, and not that Hamas had attacked innocent civilians intentionally.
Beginning this week, MSA has sporadically hosted a memorial for these terrorists – in their words, “lives lost in the resistance of occupation” – in the Student Union. According to UCF MSA, the Hamas terrorists who slaughtered children and beheaded babies were simply engaging in the “resistance of occupation.” It was not immediately clear if MSA was aware that Israelis, not Palestinians, were the ones attacked, or that Gaza was not under Israeli occupation prior to the events of the war.
Additionally, the poster for the memorial includes the antisemitic and genocidal slogan “From the River to the Sea.” This slogan is a dog-whistle used by white supremacist and antisemitic organizations to indicate support for a genocide of the Jews, “from the [Jordan] river to the [Mediterranean] sea.”
While memorializing the innocent Palestinian civilians killed throughout the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a noble goal, the language used by MSA indicates they are not memorializing innocent civilians, but rather war criminals who intentionally killed civilians as part of a genocidal campaign to eradicate Jews from their homeland.
