No Arrest for UCF Student Who Said "God Willing" He Would Kill All Jews and Americans
UCF's Police Department justified the decision by citing a "language barrier" and the lack of fear displayed by the victims.
The UCF student who confronted a group of Jews and an ally, telling them “God willing, I will be part of it,” when asked if he intended to participate in a global massacre of Jews, will apparently not be arrested or charged by UCF PD, according to sources on the ground.
Students who spoke with the Monitor said they had received information from the police suggesting that they did not wish to bring charges against the hate criminal. The apparent presence of a “language barrier” (which meant that the student “didn’t know what he was saying”), as well as the fact that none of the victims were in immediate fear for their lives, was enough to prevent the police from intervening. This was despite the details of the case nearly matching the situation which led to the arrest of another student on hate crime charges.
The victims told the Monitor they were hopeful at first that Seif Asi’s arrest was the start of a major change to how UCF PD handles campus antisemitism and violent conduct. Now that the unidentified hate criminal has not been charged, one of the victims told the Monitor that they believed the police “thought they had done enough by arresting one of them” and that they thought it was unlikely any future hate criminal would be arrested.
The incident has been escalated to the FBI and Florida Department of Law Enforcement by one of the victims as a potential terrorism threat.
